I was in charge of the Department of Agriculture, Stock and Fisheries station at Murua, about an hour upstream from Kerema in the Gulf Province of Papua New Guinea, from February to September 1970. My wife, Joy, and I lived there throughout this time.
These photos provide an overview of some aspects of life on both the station and the smallholder rubber resettlement scheme across the river at the time.
